Episode 4
FLARE RECAP
BEST DRESSED
Love him or hate him (I know, I know... he was tough to love this week), I did appreciate the ensemble JJ chose to be an asswipe in...
... just to confirm that Tony is, indeed, VERY HANDSOME. With his backwards cap pulling his hair out of his face and no puffy vest or granola hoodie to distract us, we agreed he's super hot. Sadly, he insists on wearing things like this:
Oh, Tony. He really is cut from a different cloth. And as someone who often feels cut from a different cloth, I don't say that lightly. I understand he "sees the world through the eyes of a child", but based on this sweater, one would think he can't see at all.
My worst dressed this week, however, went to Josh...
I understand it was probably a warm night but if he couldn't handle wearing the full suit he should've ditched the vest and simply rolled up his sleeves. Furthermore, a three-piece suit vest is not to be worn as an accessory. It's meant to be worn with its matching jacket and trousers. NO EXCEPTIONS. (Sorry, Josh.)
KAITLYN'S LOOKS
I lOVED Kaitlyn's first outfit of the episode...
I love the slightly rocker chic-meets-goth vibe to this. I'm all over wearing oversized sweaters with tight leggings (it's a common look for me) so it goes without saying I'd wear this. In fact, I own her Wilfred leather-like leggings. (I normally can't stand the feel of faux leather but these truly are amazing and very convincing) A very similar cashmere poncho sells here. Sadly her jewelry is all The Woods (grrr for unattainable bijoux!). Her exact pendant sells here, but here are the most similar options I could find... Horn necklace: here, here, and here. (Those willing to splurge might like this) / Horn ring: here and here.
Her striped cardigan was YET ANOTHER item I would buy...
I love anything with stripes and I really dig this color. She looks so cozy and comfy yet not at all frumpy. Sadly her sweater is long gone, but a very similar one sells here.
The "sex-ed" group date may have been in poor taste, but Kaitlyn's dress made up for it...
I mentioned back in Episodes 1 & 2 that I have never been a fan of waist embellishments. I'm fully aware this is probably just a thing I have, but I always find them prom-y and a tad cheap-looking. I would have LOVED this gown if there had been no embellishments at all. Imagine those sheer cutouts and that open back without the bedazzling overpowering things. It would be bit more subtle and WAY more sexy. I honestly feel this dress has too much going on and the old "less is more" adage applies. Her earrings, however, are perfection.
Until next week, fellow pandas!
