Carmen
I've long touted the powers of sartorial "editing"—in this case, snipping off ties to reveal a completely open back dress or top. This sweater is another perfect example; it comes with a heavy ribbon-like tie across the back, which frankly looks frilly and busy without actually providing any support. (If a band across the back means you can conceal a bra, that's a different story!) I bought this sweater fully intending to cut those ties off and I couldn't be happier with the results. A sleek yet easy, oversized ribbed sweater with a gaping open back. Perfect for nights out or by day with a cute-backed (think criss cross or an understated lace racerback) bralette underneath.
I bought this hat on Granville Island in Vancouver (I made the jaunt over while I was in Victoria for an opera) and am obsessed with it. It's the ultimate pop of color and makes my dirty hair days look fabulous. I call it my Carmen Sandiego hat. :)
