It’s no secret I have a thing for dusters. In fact, in taking a moment to gloat obnoxiously: 2 YEARS AGO I called it that they’d be here to stay for awhile. :)

So, when I saw this duster-length piece that incorporates my other love, plaid, with another trend du jour, Victorian details—AND which can be worn as both a dress and a long jacket—it was love at first sight. Despite the obvious drama of this piece, there’s still an understatedness: the fabric, the boldness of the plaid, and the palette all suggest, “Who, me?”, while the silhouette has full-blown jazz hands. I’ve already worn this closed as a dress and with the belt it comes with, as well as open like a cardigan. But my favorite, most statement-making way to wear this (and my other long-length button down numbers) is as I’ve styled it here: buttoned-up a bit on top, cinched at the waist with a belt, and then fully open down below, just waiting for a photogenic breeze to come by.
