Nordstrom: Spring Sale Haul

You guys know by now that shopping is something of a sport for me. I thrive on a good deal and particularly love buys that only look expensive. I love putting my eagle eye to work at department store sale racks, so partnering with Nordstrom to shop their famed annual Spring Sale is a true match made in shopping heaven. I’ve managed to round out my spring wardrobe nicely, plus while assembling this post I realized every single piece I picked up is under $100!

This blog post is in collaboration with Nordstrom and ShopStyle but all purchases, styling, thoughts, and opinions are my own. Read on to see what I picked up on my Nordstrom Spring sale sleuth…

Free People “Best Of You” Sweater in Neutral (40% off): I’m on a perpetual hunt for the perfect slouchy, subtly sexy yet not trying-too-hard sweater. Pieces that naturally drape off the shoulder (rather than being formally Off The Shoulder) are one of my favorite ways to inject a bit of interest into an otherwise #basic outfit. This sweater was an instant win for me given its neutral (read: versatile) shade and casual vibes. At this price it’s a better deal than on Free People’s own site.

Jules Kae “Jen” Faux Fur Pouch in Plum (50% off): Squishy, cuddly soft, and fun. (Andy makes fun of me when I call fashion “fun” but some things really are fun!) The size is perfect and it easily transitions from makeup/accessories bag to low maintenance clutch. Given the price, this purchase was a no-brainer.

Steve Madden “Trace-R” Crystal Mule (50% off): These were one of my favorite finds of the whole sale. I’ve been really vibing mules lately; they’re super comfy, they’re flattering (they don’t break the line of your leg at the ankle), they’re perfect for this transitional spring weather, and they go with everything. I have 5 pairs of mules at this point and really do wear every pair. These crystal ones are fabulously over the top without being gaudy—they can be dressed both up and down but I personally love the dichotomy of unabashed bling with hyper-casual, distressed jeans. By the way, these are still FULL PRICE everywhere else.

Wayf “Gwyneth” Velvet Wrap Midi Dress in Leopard (40% off): Leopard, check. Velvet, check. Midi length, check. In store, and even hidden among the near daunting number of sale racks, I flocked to this dress like a moth to a flame. Styling-wise, this dress begs for some drama, so I obliged with dark lips, and wearing my hair back in a tousled pony balances the puffed shoulders. This dress is a steal at this price, especially given its impact. It’s an entire look unto itself.

BP Pointelle Stitch Sweater in Yellow Whip (50% off): I love the twist of ladylike, usually dainty pointelle with a slouchy, oversized silhouette. I was debating between the yellow and blue color in this and am SO glad I went with yellow. It’s super unique—you don’t really see many sheer sweaters in hues like bold mustard—and is truly unlike anything else in my wardrobe. I’ve found it surprisingly versatile so far, it’s a compliment magnet, and at $25, I would go so far as to say this is the best deal out of all of my finds.

Halogen “Blakely” Slip-On Platform Sneaker in Black Croco (50% off): These are my favorite find in terms of being a steal but looking designer. (Seriously, they look like they’re Vince or Rag & Bone.) The croc embossed leather looks expensive, and with how these sneakers cut at the ankle, they’re shockingly flattering. (I confess I actually didn’t think they would be!) And of course, unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know platforms of all kinds are super on-trend right now.

Rebecca Minkoff “Sasha North/South” Belt Bag (40% off): This is another designer-looking piece without the designer price—if you’d told me this was by Alexander Wang I’d have believed you. I see this as a fun—and during this sale, wallet-friendlier—alternative to the ever-popular Bandolier phone case. As with the Bandoliers, you’re not going to fit your whole kit and caboodle in this thing. But in terms of keeping your phone and credit cards close yet hands-free, this is a very cute, chic choice. I look forward to dancing the night away with this, worry-free. :)
