This was such a fun mini-shoot because Naomi is an old friend of mine, from back in my early NYC days. While I was still in college, we met working at the same (now defunct!) restaurant—she was a bartender and I was a waitress. She’s a mega talented photographer and even took my singing headshots all those years ago. (Damn, how does time fly so fast?) She’s since moved to Seattle so I naturally reached out while in town. Needless to say, having her behind the camera well over a decade later was a hoot!

I’m not going to lie… I’d been hoping vests would make a comeback for awhile now. (If you know my style, you’ll know I’ve worn many a dress or romper with the vest silhouette - HERE, HERE, and HERE!) I’ve been eyeing the sweater vest trend creeping up and have been loving the highly versatile options. And while I love a good print, I personally prefer solid, relaxed-fit knit vests as a way of dipping one’s toe into the trend—throw one over a button down and a pair of leggings and you have an automatically put-together outfit.
