One of my oldest college friends jokes about my affinity for—and marvels at my successes with—what she would call "old lady stores". You know what I mean: The Chico's, Talbots, Ann Taylor, (and for you Canadians, Melanie Lyne) stores of the world. I periodically give these stores a quick chance because once in a while they'll surprise me with a great find (and a good deal) nobody else will have. Or, at the very least, a great find nobody else will have styled the way I have.

Case in point, this jumpsuit. It's buttoned-up and conservative, but with its cropped palazzo pants and by sheer virtue of it being a jumpsuit, is updated and modern. I'm often stopped on the street and asked where it's from and no one can ever believe it's Ann Taylor. Mwahahaha!

I also get a little kick out of pairing an "old lady store" find with my beloved gold sunglasses chain (which my longtime readers may remember from one of my first ever blog posts). Once again, it's an accessory my grandmother used to have, but updated to be as cool as it is functional.

Thanks for stopping by!
